Yogyakarta, May 4, 2024 - The Javanese Language Education Study Program sent six lecturers as Badminton athletes in the Interfaculty Sports Week (POR) organized by Yogyakarta State University. The Interfaculty Sports Week (POR) is part of a series of activities that enliven UNY's 60th Anniversary.  The badminton sport was held for three days, namely Wednesday-Jum'at on May 1-3, 2024 and was attended by all faculties and units at UNY.

Lecturers of the Department of Regional Language Education who represented the Faculty of Language, Arts, and Culture in badminton were Prof. Suwardi, Venny Indria Ekowati, M.Litt, Avi Meilawati, M.A, Dr. Doni Dwi Hartanto, M.Pd, Galang Prastowo, M.A, and Nujumun Niswah, M.Pd.  Besides six lecturers from PBD, the FBSB badminton contingent was also joined by lecturers from other departments and faculty members.

Both the men's and women's teams of FBSB were included in Group B. In several matches that have been played, the women's team defeated the Faculty of Engineering (FT) team with a score of 2-1 and the Faculty of Medicine (FK) with the same score. On the other hand, the women's team failed to win against the Faculty of Social, Legal and Political Sciences (Fishipol) and the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP).

Meanwhile, the men's team defeated the Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) in their first match with a score of 3-2 and won again against the Postgraduate team with a score of 4-1. Another victory was scored by the men's team with perfect points against the Faculty of Medicine (FK), which was 5-0. But on the last day of the match, the men's team failed to outperform the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the Faculty of Social, Legal and Political Sciences (Fishipol).

From the matches that have been played, the women's team won third place in Group B for the women. Meanwhile, the men's team ranked 4th in the men's Group B.
