Local Language Education students of UNY won two championships at the Maca Geguritan Adult Level competition held by the Sleman Regency Cultural Office (Kundha Kabudayan) on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Nur Rosyid Hidayat won first place and Nepty Yanuari won third place. Both are sixth semester Regional Language Education students.

In the competition, Rosyid and Nepty had to read two geguritan: compulsory and optional geguritan. The compulsory geguritan that all participants had to read was "Balada Guru TK" by Sinarendra Krisna. As for the optional geguritan, both chose the geguritan "Layangan Abang Putih" written by Sugito HS.

For their good performance in the competition, Rosyid and Nepty won the competition which was attended by participants throughout Sleman Regency. Hopefully their achievement can motivate other Regional Language Education students to excel. Congratulations!
